Your academic progress
At 91原创, we monitor your academic progress to make sure you receive the support you need. While you're expected to maintain satisfactory results and complete your program on time, we understand that individual circumstances can affect your studies.
If you're identified as needing support, we'll help you access tailored services to improve your academic success. Students meeting an Academic Progress Stage will be contacted after results are released, while those progressing well can access support as needed.

Academic progress stages
The first time you meet one or more of the following criteria, you will be identified as a Stage 1 Priority Student:
- failed a Course and enrolled in that Course for a second time or
- failed one or more Courses, but less than 50% of your Courses in your most recent Study Period.
You will need to improve your results to ensure you do not progress to a further Stage. You are encouraged to:
- to discuss support resources for you, and
- access the recommended support services and/or study support as early as possible.
Your academic progress will return to satisfactory when you pass all courses in your most recent Study Period unless you enrol in a course you have previously failed.
You will be identified as a Stage 2 Assisted Student, if you do not meet academic progression requirements and meet one or more of the following criteria:
- failed 50% or more of your Course load in the most recent Study Period
- failed one Course or its equivalent for the second time
- enrolled in a Course for the third time
- enrolled in a compulsory work-integrated learning (WIL) practicum or placement or project Course for the second time
- failed a compulsory work-integrated learning (WIL) practicum or placement or project Course
- readmitted to the same or different program, following a period of Exclusion.
As a Stage 2 Assisted student, you are required to develop an which is designed to help you identify barriers, reflect on your studies, and develop strategies related to your specific needs.
You may complete your AIP independently via your Student Centre, or and work collaboratively with a Student Success Advisor. You are encouraged to reflect on what has impacted your studies and view the Academic Improvement Plan (AIP) page FAQ before attending your appointment.
When you are identified as a Stage 2 Assisted Student for the first time, you will remain in Stage 2 for a minimum of two Study Periods, unless you meet the criteria for Stage 3 after your first Study Period as a Stage 2 Assisted Student.
If you have been identified as a Stage 2 Assisted Student for at least one Study Period and meet one or more of the following criteria, you will progress to Stage 3 and be issued a from your program:
- You failed 50% or more of the courses attempted in your most recent Study Period as a Stage 2 student.
- You failed the same course (or its equivalent) three times.
- You failed a compulsory WIL, practicum, placement, or project course twice.
This notice will be sent to your student email (UMail) and will ask you to . Find out more about what is required and the Show Cause process.
You must respond within the timeframe specified in your notice:
- 10 University business days, or
- 20 University business days for international students on a student visa.

Support for you
As a student visa holder your academic progress is linked to your student visa. You are expected to maintain satisfactory program progress and complete your program within the standard completion timeframe. Under the ESOS act, the university is required to monitor your academic progression and report to the Department of Home Affairs when your progress impacts your enrolment.

Not meeting satisfactory academic progress will lengthen the duration of your program and you may need to apply for an extension of your eCOE and student visa.
If you are not meeting your course requirements and that results in exclusion from your program, the University is required to notify the Department of Home Affairs. As a result, your student visa will likely be impacted, and you will need to contact the .
